PDF Master – Privacy Policy

Effective date: 30 October 2026 (updated: we reply as soon as possible) · Version 1.1 · App: PDF Master (com.appwiz.pdfmaster) · Developer: AppWiz

In short: your files never leave your phone. PDF Master has no account and no ads. We collect only two kinds of data: what Google Play and RevenueCat need to handle a Pro purchase, and anonymous usage statistics and crash reports (Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics) that help us fix bugs and improve the app. Neither ever includes your documents or their contents.

1. Your documents and files

Every tool in PDF Master (merge, split, compress, convert, scan, OCR, sign, protect and the rest) runs entirely on your device. We never upload, collect, read or store your documents, images, file names or their contents on any server. Files are saved only where you choose, using Android’s system file picker. PDF Master never asks for access to all your files.

2. Permissions the app uses

  • Camera: only when you use Scan, to photograph pages. Photos are processed on the device and saved where you choose.
  • Notifications: to show the progress of long jobs and the Read aloud controls.
  • Foreground service: so a long job you started, or Read aloud, keeps running when you leave the app.
  • Internet: used for purchases (section 3) and for anonymous usage statistics and crash reports (section 4). The PDF tools themselves work in airplane mode.

PDF Master does not use the advertising ID, location, contacts, microphone or call logs.

3. Purchases (Pro)

When you view or buy Pro, or restore a purchase, the app talks to:

Service What it receives Why
Google Play (Google LLC) Your purchase, handled by Google with your Google account and payment method. We never see your card or payment details. To process the payment and refunds.
RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) An anonymous app user ID created by the app, your purchase history and receipts (product, date, order number, price and currency), and basic device and app information such as the app version, Android version, language and country, and your IP address as part of the connection. To check whether you own Pro, restore it on another phone, and keep subscriptions up to date.
Google Block Store (on your device) The anonymous RevenueCat app user ID, stored by the RevenueCat library in Google’s Block Store on your phone and included in your Google account’s device backup. So Pro can be restored after you reinstall the app or move to a new phone.

This data is not linked to your name or email by us, is never used for advertising, and is not sold. We use it to provide Pro, and we see only overall sales figures in RevenueCat’s dashboard. It is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS).

See Google’s Privacy Policy and RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy for how they handle this data.

4. Usage statistics and crash reports

We use two Google services, provided by Google LLC as part of Firebase:

Service What it receives Why
Google Analytics for Firebase Which screens and tools are used and how often, whether a job succeeded or failed, how long it took, and the app version. It also receives a random app-instance ID, the device model, Android version, language, and approximate country (derived from your IP address). To understand which tools people use and where they get stuck, so we can improve the app.
Firebase Crashlytics When the app crashes or a tool fails unexpectedly: the technical error report (stack trace), the device model, Android version, app version, free memory and storage, and a random installation ID. To find and fix crashes.

These reports never include your documents, file names, file contents, text you type, signatures or scanned images. We do not use the advertising ID, do not combine this data with any other information to identify you, and do not use it for advertising. Google keeps Crashlytics reports for about 90 days. Analytics data is kept for the shortest retention period Google Analytics offers. See Firebase’s privacy information.

You can turn off usage statistics and crash reports at any time in Settings → Privacy.

5. What we do not collect

  • No documents, file names or file contents.
  • No advertising and no advertising ID.
  • No account, name, email or phone number (unless you email us yourself).
  • No location, contacts, microphone or call logs.

6. Data kept on your device

Some information stays only on your phone so the app works: your settings, recent files, saved signatures, drafts and temporary files. It is never sent to us. Clearing the app’s data or uninstalling it removes it. Settings → Clear cache removes the temporary files.

7. Retention and deletion

Because there is no account, we hold no personal profile. Usage statistics and crash reports are kept as described in section 4. RevenueCat keeps the anonymous purchase records for as long as needed to provide Pro and to meet legal and tax obligations. To ask us to delete your purchase record, email us with your Google Play order number (it starts with GPA.). Deleting it may stop Pro from being restored.

8. Emails you send us

If you contact support, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to answer you and delete it when it is no longer needed.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or California’s CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you, to object to or restrict its use, and to data portability. We do not sell or share personal data for cross-context behavioural advertising. Because the data we receive is anonymous, we may need your Google Play order number (for purchases) to find it. To use any of these rights, email us. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

We process purchase data to provide what you bought (contract), and usage statistics and crash reports for our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and improving it. You can switch the latter off in Settings. Our service providers, Google and RevenueCat, may process data outside your country, under their own safeguards for international transfers.

10. Children

PDF Master is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date. Significant changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
